Harare Derby on as Dynamos battle chop

By Wellington Toni

DYNAMOS FC revive their battle against relegation from the Castle Lager
Premier Soccer League on Sunday when they clash against Caps United in
a rescheduled Harare Derby.
Three matches, postponed due to the presidential inauguration cup,
will be played this Fifa international break with Highlanders
travelling to Shabanie Mine on Sunday while Black Rhinos host Harare
City at the National Sports Stadium.
No doubt the pick of the match is between the Harare giants, the green
half of the capital sitting comfortable in fifth place and the blue
half flirting with relegation.
Engulfed by turmoil on and off the field of play since the exit of
Keni Mubaiwa as president, the second axing of Lloyd Mutasa and the
absence of delinquent kid Denver Mukamba, things have never been this
bad at DeMbare.
They occupy the last relegation slot, with 31 points from 28 games but
with a win against a top four chasing side in Caps United, will move
four places up the table to 11th.
They will leapfrog Yadah, Bulawayo Chiefs and Nichrut, who are all
tied on 32 points from 29 games. They would also dislodge Chapungu,
who are on 33 points.
Dynamos last won a league match on September 2 when they edged
Bulawayo City 2-1 are winless in five games. That was followed by a
3-0 thrashing by archrivals Highlanders, a 0-0 draw against Chapungu,
a 1-0 loss to Harare City, a 0-0 draw with Bulawayo Chiefs and a 2-0
defeat to champions FC Platinum.
But the coming in of Lloyd Chigowe and Murape Murape could turn out
well for them should they win this Sunday, just a week after coming
from a penalty win against Herentals in the Chibuku Super Cup
That, according to Chigowe, was the tonic they needed to salvage their
season and bring back some glamour to their fans.
On the other hand, Caps are on 44 points, four off Triangle and
maximum points will do good for their ambitions. The Green Machine
have also struggled of late, failing to win their last three outings.

Rescheduled Matchday 24 fixtures
Saturday: Black Rhinos v Harare City (National Sports Stadium)
Sunday: Shabanie Mine v Highlanders (Maglas), Dynamos v Caps United (Rufaro)
