Chiyangwa ally falls in Zifa elections

BULAWAYO – ZIFA president Phillip Chiyangwa’s ally in the Southern Region Musa Mandaza has been booted out of office after losing weekend elections.
Mandaza was one of key actors in the recall of Cuthbert Dube’s board in 2015 and campaigned for Chiyangwa’s ascendancy into the top office the same year.
But for him, unfortunately, he found no favours from his own Southern Region constituency when he was resoundingly thumped 20-7 by former Highlanders secretary Andrew Tapela.
Tapela is returning to the Zifa Board for the second time having been part of the 2014 set up before being banned for attempting, with other members, to stage a boardroom coup against then chairman Rafik Khan.
Tapela would be deputised by Gaylord Magunduza who was elected unopposed. The other four Southern Region board members are Bryton Malandule, Gift Thebe, Mlungisi Siziba and Tizirayi Luphahla.
