EGYPT have been awarded the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations finals ahead of their southern African neighbours South Africa.
The decision was announced by Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Ahmad,
The finals were due to be staged in Cameroon but were stripped of the hosting rights as they failed to meet certain deadlines with regards to stadium readiness, accommodation and transport.
They do now host the 2021 finals while Guinea will play host to the 2023 edition.
Zimbabwe are on course for the finals in Egypt as they sit atop of Group G qualifiers and need just a point from their last home match against Congo Brazzaville in March.
